Running Rampant

-by Josh Stoner

Through my mind you run

Causing trouble and sorrow

On my heart you tread

Not so gently and without care

I turn my eyes on tomorrow

When you’ll be gone from my spirit

As you continue on your rampage

Of my soul and mind

Never since you came in

Has there been peace

Within me or my being

And I lie awake only to cry

I invited the devil to take control

The very night I fell in love with you

And you hold your leash oh so tight

That I might not revive to live again

Once you have left I will not love again

Love is something inexperienced people do

I shall definitely keep my heart as mine

Until time heals the scars it bears from you
